iGEN Attends ESG Seminar for Gaming Industry at Westin Dragonara Resort

iGEN representatives attended the ESG-focused gaming seminar held on October 4 at The Pavilion, Westin Dragonara Resort in St. Julian’s. The event was co-hosted by Zampa Debattista and GTG to examine sustainability compliance within the iGaming sector.

Regulatory Updates and Reporting Standards

The morning session opened with remarks from Dr Ian Gauci of GTG and a keynote by Carl Brincat, CEO of the Malta Gaming Authority, outlining the upcoming ESG code for gaming licensees. Mark Wirth of Zampa Debattista moderated the first discussion on CSRD and non-financial reporting requirements. Panelists Reuben Portanier, Kinga Warda, and Jonna Danlund reviewed current progress in responsible gaming and workplace inclusion. Danlund detailed Betsson Group’s approach to mandatory CSRD disclosure as one of the earliest operators subject to the directive.

Environmental Strategies and Compliance Frameworks

Enrico Bradamante of iGEN led the second discussion on environmental initiatives with David Xuerub of the Malta ESG Alliance and Christian Sammut of BMIT Ltd. The group examined practical sustainability measures implemented by gaming companies and their participation in industry events. Reuben Portanier moderated the final session on constructing auditable ESG compliance programs. Liesbeth Oost of Neogames and Mark Wirth discussed methods for tracking measurable outcomes and engaging internal teams with external suppliers.
